The lovely snow white cockatoo in this clip is evidence of how vigorous and fun loving parrots really are. Cockatoos are a sub-species of parrots and are recognizable by their less colorful feathers and showy head crests. The one seen here is called Louie the cockatoo, and he is gracefully rocking out to the 70’s hit “Shake Your Groove Thing” by Peaches & Herb in this impressive video uploaded by Teresa Buxton to YouTube. The boogieing parrot swings and dances to the musical tune while his female friend cheers him on from off camera. The lively little fellow dances to the disco beat just as good, if not even better, than the dancers on Soul Train! He walks back and forth while pulling off some sweet moves and it is impressive to see this parrot’s vigorous, hippity-hoppity performance. It is safe to tell this bird has a magnificent natural talent and unique dancing skills. At numerous points, Louie raises his charming head crest and fans it out to show it off perfectly in all its glory. He appears to be having a happy time and looks to get truly into the music. His parrot dance will make anyone smile and brighten their day! Interestingly, cockatoos adore to dance and the wonderful parrot share something in common with music history. They bear a striking similarity to the king of rock and roll, Elvis himself, with their famous feathered head crests. The crests seem like the popular 1950’s men’s hairstyle, the type that Elvis rocked, called the pompadour.
