Astonishing Mating Dance of a Bird of Paradise!

This was shot from the deck of our Pioneer Cottage at Crater lakes Rainforest Cottages, Atherton Tablelands, Qld, Australia. I heard the regular wing clapping of a mating dance and check out the forest (you can hear the noise towards the end of the clip when the male goes into a whole dance). He was dancing on a horizontal log, not on top of a vertical log which is more natural. The female flew into the trees before I was ready to get outside with my camera. There was also a young male performing in the proximity. During mating season barely a day goes by where I wouldn't observe some kind of performance, somewhere on the property. Recorded 29 Nov 2011.
